Sunday November 6th, 2011

Hello dear Unity community:

This Sunday is our time for visioning for our church, and praying for ourselves, our loved ones, and each other.

On Sunday 10/23  I gave a talk on "A way to pray:  Spiritual Mind Treatment from Religious Science.
This is the way I tend to pray, but I'm not saying now everyone HAS to pray like this!
I just  think it's helpful as it gives a format or outline for prayer.  This might help especially in praying out loud.   If it is helpful, use it; if not, let it alone.

See below for a synopsis of a Spiritual Mind Treatment, if you didn't get a handout.

Many blessings,
Rev. Gena

SPIRITUAL MIND TREATMENT
Purpose: The condition or situation I want to change, and then the new condition I expect to experience.

Step 1: Recognition: God is all there is.
Begin with the Recognition that there is One Life, and that Life is God – or by any other name meaningful to you. Examples:
“I know there is an Infinite Spirit that I call the Universe.” Or “I recognize the One power, the presence, and the love of All That Is.”

Step 2: Unification: I am One with God.
We now affirm that we are One with the Spirit that God is. We are Divine expressions of God. Since God is all there is, there is nothing or no one separate from God.  Make a simple declaration of your unity with God, such as:
"I know that I am One with Infinite Mind." Or "I recognize my unity with God.”

Step 3: Realization: I realize and accept my good.
This is “making real,” the qualities of God in a specific form or desire to call forth in your own consciousness. This is describing the condition or situation or feeling that you now claim to be manifest. Make statements such as:
“I know that peace, power, and plenty are within me and active in my life.”  Or "I step forth into my Divinity, saying yes to my prosperity, harmony, and love.”
“I am filled with Divine health and vitality, pouring into every cell of my being.”

And continue until you can feel the shift to knowing that this is the truth.

Step 4: Thanksgiving: I am grateful.
An attitude of gratitude is essential to creating a new intention in our lives. In giving thanks, we are declaring that it is already done.  Some examples are:
"I am so grateful for knowing this Truth of my life.”" Or, "With great gratitude, I accept this greater good in my life.”

Step 5: Release: Let Go and Let God
You are turning your affirmative declaration of Truth entirely over to Infinite Love, Intelligence, Spirit, Divine Law. While you hold on to it, nothing can take place.
"I release. I let go. I let the Spirit do Its perfect work." Or, "I trust the Universe to provide for me. It is done. It is so." Or, "And so it is! Amen."

Example of a Spiritual Mind Treatment for Prosperity
- There is One Infinite Creative Power, the source of all Life. And it is God.
- The Spirit of God flows in, through, and as all things, all beings. It is the source of our very existence. It is operating in me, as me, this is who I truly am.
- God's abundance is mine right here and right now. Prosperity flows to and through and all around me, blessing my life with lavishness, joy and clarity. In embracing and releasing the Truth of this Perfection, I celebrate the harvest of healthy, happy relationships, spiritual and financial affluence, joy and well-being. Recognizing God at the center of all existence my life is one of ease, wealth and Love.
- For the bountiful expression of Blessings in my life, I give thanks. My life is rich and full with the promise of God's Splendor and I live in Gratitude.
- I release this Truth into Law, knowing as I speak these words, it is so. And so it is!
